Dr. Harwood is an economic geologist with 35 years of international exploration and mining experience and graduated with a B.Sc. (Honours) degree and Ph.D in Economic Geology. Dr. Harwood was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Montero Mining & Exploration in June, 2009. Between 2006 and 2009, Dr. Harwood was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Africo Resources Ltd., a TSX company. Between 1998 and 2006, Tony served as a Vice President of Placer Dome Inc., a major Canadian gold mining company. Other past professional credits include positions as Executive Chairman of Universal Coal PLC (ASX) and non-executive director of; Adamus Resources (ASX), Endeavour Mining (TSX-ASX), Auryx Gold Corp. (TSXV), African Gold Group (TSX), and Lappland Goldminers (STO). Currently Dr. Harwood serves on the board of East African Metals (TSX). Dr. Harwood additionally held a position as a lecturer – University of Wales, Cardiff (UK), University of Natal and University of Durban (South Africa).

While at Africo the company won a Special Award at Mines and Money, London, for community upliftment programs in the mine project area.

Tony is actively working on a number of CRS initiates in Africa speaking and helping coordinate conferences on initiatives on the continent.
